Our journey through history begins at eight in the morning. I will meet you at the hotel and we will head to Giza by car.
There we will start from a visit to the main attraction and symbol of Egypt – the Pyramids of Giza, including the Pyramids of Cheops, Mykerin and Chephren. The Pyramid of Cheops is rightfully considered the largest pyramid ever built, its dimensions are amazing.
After the Great Pyramids, we will go straight to the Valley Temple, where the famous mummy is kept. Here we will also study the Great Sphinx – a beast with the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Chephren, which guards the majestic burial complex.
Next, we will study in detail the area of Old Cairo, which is also called Coptic Cairo. The Holy Family once stopped in this place. The reason for this was the governor of Fustat (a city on the site of modern Cairo), who was furious at the fall of idols at the arrival of Jesus, and attempted to kill the baby. But they managed to hide in an ancient cave, in which the Church of St. Sergius was later erected. This place, as well as all the surroundings of the Babylonian fortress, are an important place for pilgrimage not only for Egyptians, but also for Christians from all over the world. Here we will have the opportunity to visit the Church of St. Sergius and the Church of St. Barbara, as well as the Hanging Church.
After a hearty lunch, another important monument awaits us – the Citadel of Saladin, here we will admire the mosque of Mohamed Ali (Alabaster Mosque).
Our extensive tour ends at the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, where you will be able to purchase the most exotic goods. Local shops and stores are known far beyond the borders of Egypt and are proud of their products made of precious metals, leather, copper, their antiques and perfumes.
